Thomas Baylies md 1732 Springfield MA Sarah Mighill
A few years after their 1732 marriage they moved to Salisbury, Litchfield Co CT, where they stayed until at lest early 1747.
They are known to have been in the Town of Northeast, Dutchess Co NY from February 1753, if not earlier.
It can be presumed that Thomas and family were in Albany (now Columbia) Co NY by December 1762, and likely earlier, becauses his daughter Sarah in that month married Nathaniel Mighell / Miles.
Another daughter, Elizabeth, also married in New Concord (now Chatham) Albany (now Columbia) Co in July 1769 to Christopher Peake, all this known from her Rev War pension application as the widow of Peake..
The known children of Thomas and Sarah Baylies were:
1732 Nov ... George, Springfield---died young
1733/34 Mar ... John, Springfield---died young
1736[1736/37?]Mar ... Richard, Salisbury
1737/38 Jan ... George, Salisbury
1739 Dec ... Margrit, Salisbury
1741 Dec ... John, Salisbury
1743 Nov ... Sarah, Salisbury
BIG GAP HERE
1749/50 Jan ... Elizabeth, Dutchess Co NY
Of these children, those known to have reached adulthood, in addion to Elizabeth, are Sarah and John (1741).
Those who died young include the first George (1732) and the first John (1733/34).One researcher is said to have found evidence that at least one other child died in Salisbury but I have seen no evidence of that yet.
I would be happy, even anxious, to send info about Thomas and his wife Sarah, and their daughters Sarah and Elizabeth and son John to interested researchers.
