Charles Bailey (Baillie) Birth Certificate and/or Baptismal Records
Charles Bailey (Baillie)
Seeking Birth Certificate and/or Baptismal Records – Loughbrickland, County Down
I am trying to find information on my Grandfather Charles Bailey (Baillie). Specifically I need assistance on how to find and obtain a copy of either his Birth Certificate or Baptismal Records.
Charles Bailey (Baillie) was born on August 31, 1896 to James Baillie and Matilda (Grattan). From my research I believe that James and Matilda were married on June 14, 1895 at St. Mellan’s Church (Church of Ireland) in Loughbrickland by Reverend Henry W. Lett.
Charles’ father, James Baillie lived in Dromorebrague and his mother Matilda lived in Derrydrummuck at the time they were married.
The 1901 Census of Ireland, dated March 31, 1901, lists James and Matilda and their children Charles, (my Grandfather) and Francis May as living in;
County Down,
Parliamentary Division - West Down,
Poor Law Union – Banbridge,
District Electoral Division – Loughbrickland,
Townland – Coolnacran,
Barony – Iveagh Upper, Upper Half,
Parish – Aghaderg.
It also states that Charles was born in County Down.
Since the family apparently didn’t move very far after they were married I am focusing my search for these records on the Loughbrickland area.
Can anyone help me track down this information or point me in the right direction?
