It does seem likely that Alexander BALLIE, a monumental mason of Penninghame, Wigtownshire, Scotland, may have been connected to a sculptor.

In the Valuation of the Shire of Wigtown, 1667, p.125 there were listed :

Rev. Thomas Bailzie, lands of Lyttill Dunraggatt,
2nd son of William Baillie of Dunragit, and

John Bailzie of Achmalg / Auchenmalg,
3rd son of William Baillie of Dunragit.

In the will settlement of Sir Robert Adair AD1662
Little Dunragat was mentioned.

In Edinburgh there was a marriage of a Margaret Bailyea
to a Thomas Adair and I wondered if there was a connection to these families in Wigtownshire ?Thomas Adair may have been son or grandson of Patrick Adair of Corgie, Parish of Kirkmaiden, Wigtownshire, Scotland.
