I'm trying to track down descendants of Alfred Joseph Baker, who ran the auction business Baker & Sons in London in the Victorian era. He was also a prominent athlete in his youth.
He was born 10/2/1846 to Henry Baker and Margaret Puddicombe, married 16/9/1871 to Marion Ellen Sayers, and died 3/1/1900 while running for a train at Willesden Station.
They had several children, and this may not be a complete list: Maud Marion Baker (1872-1960), married 1899 to Walter Jenks (1864-1942). Alfred Henry Baker (1873-1903), unmarried. Beatrice Ellen Baker (1874/5-?), possibly married Herbert Hunter Brown in 1901. Ralph Baker (1875-?), educated at Harrow and Tonbridge Schools. Marion Kate Baker (1877-?) Possibly some more children, then Hubert Samuel Baker (1886-?1973)
I'm not a relative, but I am researching the life of Alfred Joseph and am trying to piece together the details.
