Re: I am looking for relatives
Thanks for taking the time to make contact!
My grandfather (Kazimierz Marcin Balamut) changed the spelling of his name (to Charles Martin Balmut) when he came to the USA from Sokolow Malopolski, Poland around 1906.
My grandfather's brothers also changed their spelling when they arrived. His cousins did not - they retained the Balamut spelling.
The vast majority of members of my family tree have the Balamut spelling. So yes, your husband's family may be related to mine.
However, there are several lines of Balamut's that I have identified but have not yet been able to tie to my tree.
If you would give me your husband's name, and those of his siblings, parents, grandparents, etc. I'll be glad to see if we are in fact related. If he's not related to me, I can check his tree against the other Balamut trees that I have identified and direct you to my contact with that tree.
