If the David who was killed by an Indian near Columbia was born about 1742, as many say, then he would probably not be the father of Rhoda who married Francis Baldwin, since he would have been 14 when she was born. "David Ginnings, Jr." was dismissed from Scotch Plains Baptist Church to Mount Bethel in 1767. (The "Ginnings" name is seen several places; Scotch Plains Bap.Ch. own records correct this in a later summary of those dismissed to Mount Bethel.) So, does the "Jr." mean his father was also David? The 'seven sons' family story includes a David, but says he was never heard from after the wreck of the Old Caledonia off the Jersey shore. Maybe he was really there all along and just kept a low profile, and Rhoda is his daughter and David (killed by an Indian) is his son.
