Mary Frances Bales, 80, of Durham-Hensley Care and Rehabilitation Center in Chuckey, formerly of George Malone Road, Greeneville, died Friday, February 27, 2009, afternoon at the center.
Miss Bales retired as a secretary from W. T. Grant.
She was a member of Bales Chapel United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School and was historian for the church.
She was the daughter of the late Billie and Ruth Cooter Bales and was preceded in death by her brother, James Fred Bales.
Survivors include her niece and her husband, Patsy and Bill Haney of Greeneville, TN; two sisters-in-law, Sarah Frances Bales and Lucille Bales Jordan, both of Greeneville, TN; and several cousins.
The family received friends from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., today at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home. (Posted March 2, 2009)
The funeral service followed visitation at 8 p.m., in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Dixie Miller officiated.
A committal service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday morning, March 3, 2009, in Cross Anchor Cemetery, Greene Co TN. Family and friends will meet at 10:15 a.m. at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Glenn Malone, Raymond Cooter, Jay Paul Cooter, Freddie Johnson, Lyndel Smith, and Kenneth Malone.
Honorary pallbearers will be the members and the congregation of Bales Chapel UM Church, the staff and employees of Durham-Hensley Care and Rehabilitation, and the staff of Smoky Mountain Hospice.
