I have the following from "Immigration of Irish Quakers to Pennsylvania, 1682-1750" regarding John Blackburn b.1720 married to Rebecca Harland b.1720 Kennet Twp., Chester Co., PA, d. 30 Mar 1766, Menallen, Adams Co., PA.Their daughter, Elizabeth (no dates or places) married Jacob Beals b.? 1746 - d. 1828.This Jacob was the son of Jacob R. Beals 1717-1786, Chester Co., PA and Elizabeth Nickols.
The son of Jacob Beals 1746-1828 & Elizabeth Blackburn was John Beals (b.28 Apr 1793 Huntington, York Co., PA) - d. Nov. 1870 Pleasant Plain, Jefferson Co., IA, married to Elizabeth Puckett (b. 4 Mar 1794, N. Carolina, d. 7 Mar 1857, Pleasant Plain, Jefferson Co., IA.
The son of John (1793-1870) & Elizabeth (1794-1857) was John Blackburn Bales (b.20 Apr 1830, Hendricks, IN- d.4 May 1910 Allen, Dixon Co., NE), married to Sarah Ann Hiatt (b. 14 Nov 1832 Ohio - d. 22 Jun 1909).Their children were Benjamin, Francis Marion (Frank), Annis, Wm. Henry, Samuel H., Charles and ?Elma.
“In its early years Menallen Meeting was distinctively an irish meeting, the majority of its members being from Ireland.Among them were John Balckburn, Judge of the York County Court in 1764, County Treasurer in 1759 and 1766 and member of the Assembly.”pgs 71 & 72
