EARLY BALTZELL Found?
On the Genforum Woodring Family Forum;posting number 100:
Julianna(Vautrin/Wotring) born 1746, died 1803 married Philip Weller & Henry Peizel.(Sister Mary Salome b 1748)
On the same Woodring Forum, posting number 440; person # 62;
Juliana m Philop Weller & Henry Pietzel (spelling of her and his a little different in this message). Woodring researchers say they had trouble reading the records.
This posting goes on to say, "Children of Juliana & Henry Pietxel are: John Henry ? Pietzel; Louise Pietzel; Catharine Pietzel.
COMMENT: These families mostly in the Graceham Moravian Church, Frederick Couty Maryland consistently used two given names for each child - one official - one family.
This makes tracing them difficult!
On the Weller genforum Forum; message/posting # 940:
# 2 [19] Philip Weller 1742 - 1778;
[20] Julianna Peitzel (another spelling for her)
COMMENT: I believe the offspring of John Daniel Wotring & wife Anna Rebmann/Rebmann including Barbara, Maria Salome/Selome & Juliana married into the Moravian & non-Moravian families living at or near Graceham a few miles NE of "Fredericks Towne"; including Lefever, Baltzell/Balsel, Duvall, Johnson, Mattay, Maddert, Schmit(Smith), Muller
/Miller & Duvall to name a few perhaps not included in the Woodring postings.
The given name Julianna shows up in the above families in later generations in various forms such as Julian, Juliann, etc in the Lutheran & Reformed churches. And in SW Ohio where Julia and Jely, etc are seen among suspected kin to my Lefever clan.
I suspect the Barbara that married Charles "Carl" Baltzell I of the Revolution was of the Vautrun/Wotring people, another brother from France, Abraham married Martz in Lancaster, PA?I believe that the Mary (Maria) Selome born 1748 or 1749 that married Elias Lefever of Frederick and died 1749 (Evangelical church record) was Mary Salome Wotring.
