John Sheldon Barber, N.Y. & Illinois

I am looking for information on John Sheldon Barber who emmigrated from Chenango County, N.Y to Illinois in 1843. He originally lived in Smyrna, N.Y. His father was Benjamin Barber. John was a wood turner and carpenter by trade. He eventually became a wagonwright in Illinois.
Any information on this family would be greatly appreciated.
