Johnny,
I have very little about my BARBERS in Oklahoma.
My great great grandfather was William Barber born around 1868. He was of Indian descent. We were always told Cherokee.
He married Katie Ellen RUPE in 1890.They applied for their license in Muskogee and were listed as living in Choska Indian Territory.
William had two known children Myrtle Ivy Mae b. 1892 and Raymond b. in 1894 in Coweta.
Supposedly they had a set of twins who died at 6months.
My great grandmother was married in Salida, Colorado so I am not sure if William and Kate were here too.
I wish I knew more.
thanks
mary lou
