WESTFIELD - Norman L. Barden, 87, of 100 Valley View Dr., died August 17, 2004 in Noble Hospital. Retired from the US Postal Service, Norman served in two branches of the military as a WWII Army veteran and Korean War Navy veteran. Prior to his service he worked in the Civilian Conservation Corps. He was awarded a voluntary service certificate from the Dept. of Veterans Affairs for participation in the voluntary service program. He was the son of the late Leo Guidetti and Ida (Desatel). Norman leaves one daughter, Norma Jeanne Dekarz; and a step-daughter, Sharon Mercure, both of Westfield; one grandson, Justin Dekarz; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 2 step-sons, George and Clifford Lynch. Funeral Fri. from Czelusniak Funeral Home, Westfield. Funeral home service at 10 a.m. with burial in the MA Veterans Cemetery, Agawam. Calling hours Fri. 9 a.m. until the time of the service. Donations in memory of Norman Barden to the MA Veterans Cemetery, Agawam, MA.
