Re: Barney Family In Michigan.
This is just a collateral line for me, but I have a few records about the Barney's.
William Barney and Theresa Rose Barney appear in the 1900 U.S. census of Chesterfield Township, Macomb County, Michigan. The record suggests William was born Oct 1867 and Teresa was born Jan 1868, both in Michigan.William was a sailor. At that time the couple had been married 8 years and had 3 sons:Walter, Harris, and Thomas Russell.Possibly Rose had been married before; William also has a 13-year-old stepson, Charles DeBurke[?] living with them.
William and Theresa were married on 21 July 1891 in Mount Clemens, Macomb county, Michigan. At the time, both were residing in New Baltimore. The marriage record is hard to recognize because William's surname was either changed or misspelled.
