I don't know Francis Bernier/Barney's parents.From my notes: Francis Barney was born in 1806 in Quebec, Canada, of French Canadian ancestors; died April 9, 1892 in Canton, N.Y.His father's surname may have been Brainah or Bruinah.He married Jeane Claimah who was "3/4 French and 1/4 German;" also recorded as Jane Clements.She was born in 1808 "about 120 miles northwest of Toronto, Canada;" died October 5, 1853 in Canton, N.Y.He married, second, Christiana (or Christy Ann) _____, who died March 10, 1892 in Canton, N.Y.The family of Francis and Jane Barney is found on p.377, 1850 Federal Census of DeKalb Township, St. Lawrence Co., N.Y. The first three children, born in Canada and the rest in New York.

I have that Francis and Jane had seven children: Lois (Louise), Harriet "Hester," Franklin Edward "Frank," William M., Joseph, Mary, and Margaret L.
