I just posted a long message and then clicked the wrong button and lost it.I hope I can duplicate some of the info.
I found a 3-volume history of the Barnwell family in the Ga. Archives (now located at Clayton State Univ. south of Atlanta).A history done by F.C. Barnhill of Marshall, Missouri and others traces the Barnwell family.
In Sybil McRay's book "This & That History of Hall Cty" she lists Anne Warren marr. George Barnwell June 24, 1819 and bur. in Yellow Creek Cem. (now located in Forsyth Cty).Anne Warren was daughter of Valetine Warren. In his will probated in Hall Cty Nov. 7, 1832 the daughters are listed as: Anne, Elizabeth, Polly (Mary), Jane, Sarah, Frances.
Valentine Warren , b. 1750 Scotland was marr. to Mary Wilchey.Another Chart gives George Barnwell, b. 1795 Caswell Cty, NC, son of John Barnwell (b. 1764 Caswell Cty. d. abt. 1852) and Sarah Muse (b. abt 1770, d. bef. 1850.
George and Anne's son was William Warren Barnwell (her maiden name as his middle name was common practice)(b. 19 Jan 1822, d. 13 July 1895) who married Melinda Martha Whitfield 26 Sept. 1844 Hall Cty.)
It is always difficult to separate "Williams", or Johns, or James in family research unless lots of digging is done.Sometimes researchers do not wait until it is carefully proven before assigning a person to an ancestor.
