Re: geographic origins - possibly Alsace

My Dad, Herbert Herman Bartel thinks that his ancestors originally spelled their name Bartelt but dropped the t.They came from Alscae Lorraine.I am trying to do a genealogy on my ancestors, but haven't had any luck until now.
