Bartelt or Bartel?

Doing genealogy on my ancestors.My dad says that he thinks that orginally Bartel was spelled with a t; Bartelt.My ancestors came from Alsace Lorraine.My grand-father's name was Herbert Hermann Bartel born June 14, 1898 in Dallas, Texas.He had three brothers:Gustav Adolph Walter Bartel, Otto Eric Bartel.And three sisters:Emma Bartel, Adeline Bartel Baugh, and Gertrude Bartel Hicks.If you think you're related please e-mail me at knajera1@elp.rr.com.I may not check the message board everyday.Thanks!
