I have seen your name posted before, but lost track of you.I have an August Bartelt, born July 1849 that I have been trying to trace.I believe that he came from Wisc. but am not positive.He filed for his naturalization in the county of LeSeur, New Ulm, MN. in 1879 and renounced the emperor of Prussia.He file for a homestead in Jan 1879 in New Ulm, MN for land in Pipestone, Co.He was married to Emilie Wilhelmine Albertina Schmeling.There first child is listed in one census as being born in WI and other records show MN.Wisc. is the only state that I find early Bartelts.Their first daughter was Martha Marie born 31 Jan 1873.I doubt there are any birth records for that early.Do you think this August Bartelt could be the brother to your Bartelt?His birthdate always appears a little vague.
