Decatur County Journal-Iowa Thursday, March l0, l92l
MRS. EARL E. KELLER was born Feb. 2lst, l882, near Weldon, Iowa, and died at her home in Humeston, Ia., after a prolonged illness, Feb. 26, l92l, at the age of 39 years and 5 days.
The deceased was the daughter of MR. and MRS. D. TRISLER and lived from childhood in and near Weldon, Iowa. She was married to MR. E.E. KELLER, Sept. 7, l907. To this union were born two children, LORA ISABELLE, aged 7 years, and DORMAN DONALD, aged 4 years.
Besides husband and children the deceased is survived by her parents, one brother, W.E. TRISLER, Weldon, and five sisters, MRS. I.A. BARTHOLOW, Indianola; MRS. J.R. PEASE, Osceola; MRS. MRS. R.C. UPDYKE, Trenton, Mo.; CHRISTINE TRISLER, Weldon, and MRS. A.G. WILLIAMS, of Weldon.
MRS. KELLER was a woman whose shrine was her home, and her family her world. She performed the duties of wife and mother in such manner as to endear her to the hearts of her family and friends. At the tender age of ll years, she gave her heart to Christ uniting with the Christian Church at Weldon and transferring her membership to Humeston Christian Church upon her removal here. She died young in years, but soothing is the reflection that she died in the faith of the Son of God, and a happy immortality beyond the grave. As we cherish her memory we recall all that was lovely in the days of her sojourn with us, and we weep because of our irreparable loss. To her many friends the memory of her uniform gentleness and kindness to all will be as a refreshing oasis to cheer them in life's rugged way.
The funeral was held at the Humeston Christian Church, Rev. Pontius preached the sermon. The text used was from Rev. 7:l3-l5, "And one of the elders answered and said unto me, These that are arrayed in white robes, who are they and whence come they? ***These are they that come out of great tribulation, and they washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb."
The remains were tenderly laid to rest in the Humeston Cemetery to there await the resurrection of the just.
