I was excited to see your post for a couple of reasons!
I think we are researching the same line: My great-great grandmother was Martha Ellen ROBERTSON (b 1842, d 1915 AR), daughter of Vincent ROBERTSON (b 1799 KY, d 1865 AR)and Charlotte REDELL (b 1796 NC, d 1844 AR).
Charlotte's parents were John David REDDELL (b ca 1768-1773 MD, d ca 1852 TN)and Mary ?????? (b 1796 SC, d bef 1867 AR).(I think Charlotte was the sister of your William.)
John's parents wereJohn REDDELL (b 1730 MD, d after1810)and Eleanor DAUGHERTY (b ca 1742-1743 MD, d ???).
Eleanor's parents were William DAUGHERTY (b ca 1717, d 1737)and Mary BARTLE (b ca 1721, d ???).
Your information has encouraged me, because I was given my information by an aunt, who received it from her aunt who did the research years ago. However, none of it was documented, so my task is to go back and document it!Since your information seems to agree with what I was given, maybe I can be confident that my great-aunt was on the right track and my job won't be as difficult as I had imagined!
Also, I was beginning to wonder if the name REDELL/REDDELL was an error, because there is no forum for that surname and yours is the only posting where I have found it under related surnames.
Do you happen to know if John David Reddell rendered service or provided supplies during the Revolutionary War?I would love to be able to establish him as a patriot so that my mother and aunt could join DAR.(If you have information that he was a Tory, that is OK too--it makes for a more colorful family history!)
Also, it looks like William only lived to be 20 years old.Do you have any idea what happened to him??
