James Bartlett- NC and Ga late 1700s
Here's an interesting little tidbit.James Bartlett and Elijah Isaacs were both on the published Wilkes/Surry County (N.C., I think...just said Wilkes/Surry) Tax List for 1771-7among other tax payers. It just so happens that in 1792 the justices from Franklin County, Ga. were asked by the Pendleton County Court (S.C.) to go take a deposition of Elijah Isaacs and James Bartlett in a suit between Samuel Isaacs and Alexander Boyse.Jan 25, 1792.[Vol 6, page 216, SC Magazine of Ancestral Research by Cannon.] Guess these two were traveling together...does anybody know whether they were on their way somewhere else, moved into Ga., or just visiting?
