I had posted here about 2 years ago regarding Abner D. Bartlett.I'm not of Bartlett decent myself, however I've been on the hunt for more info on this man. What I have found out so far is that he was from the Worcester area and I'm including a copy of my original post below.(Thought it might be easier than going through all of the messages.)
I hope this helps in your search and helps to bring Abner closer to his family.:)
Original post:Hi there. I'm not a Bartlett myself. However, I recently found a gravesite belonging to a Corp. Abner D. Bartlett who died on Dec. 11, 1883, at the age of 54. I was very much drawn to this man and have found little information on him. All I have found, is that he was a pattern maker before enlisting in the army on 8/5/1862 at the age of 34 in Blackstone, Mass. He was a CORPL. in the 39th Mass. Regiment. He is buried in Stamford, CT. by himself, no other family or vets near him. I am hoping not only to find out more info for myself but I also hope that by posting this, I can somehow help his family to find him.
I hope that you will respond to this message. It would mean a great deal to me and I think to Abner as well. Thank you!!! You can email me directly at WstWndAngl@aol.com. :)
