1850 Floyd census found onhttp://www.members.bellatlantic.net/~scotnroa/barb/census/cenab.htmlhttp://www.members.bellatlantic.net/~scotnroa/barb/census/cenab.htmlshows Loring Bartlett male, age 35, born 1815 Frederick (county?)-far (farmer?)-$500 Notes: LeRoy G. m. Olive King 10-5-1840 which is the correct marriage date. Loring could be LeRoy?There were no headings for the columns.
Regarding the child James J Bartlett, he appears on the 1860 Floyd County, Virginia Mortality Schedule. He died at age 12 from quinsey.I found the schedule at http://www.ls.net/~newriver/floy60mo.htmhttp://www.ls.net/~newriver/floy60mo.htmHe is right next to a Joseph P. Bartlett that is the child of Leroy and Olive Bartlett. The child Donald you referred to in a previous posting is not on this schedule.
The 1850 Floyd SK publications census index shows BARTLETT on page 384A.You may want to look this up if you have access to it.I don't have access to the actual 1850 census images.
The 1840 Floyd SK publications census index also has a Bartlett page 185.I have ordered an 1840 Floyd Co census book from SK ($10) and expect to see it in a week or 2.
I don't know if the Copper Hill, Floyd Bartletts tie into the ones in Patrick County or not.I just received a 1790 Virginia (all counties) Census on CD and was about to view it when I began having problems with my CD drive. As soon as I have thatresolved I will attempt to view it again. I haven't been able to get past LeRoy and Olive and it's driving me crazy.Today I sent letters off to the SS Administration requestingcopies of SS- 5 forms for several Bartlett's and King's from Copperhill, Floyd.
Lydia Clevenger and husband William Bartlett were found on the Familysearch.com website.I haven't looked on Rootsweb or Ancestry.com for additional information on them yet.
