I am a Louisiana Bartlett. My family came to this state in the mid-nineteenth century. My greatgrandfather, William Bartlett, was born in 1823 near Woodville, MS, served in the 2nd Louisiana Infantry (CSA) during the War for Southern Independence, was married in 9/1865, and had ten children, one of whom was my grandfather, Milton C. Bartlett (my Dad's side of the family). My family lived in Bienville Parish (county), LA, where I was born in 1944.I have my World War II ration stamps for milk and sugar, which were saved for me by my grandmother. My family also lived in Richland and Ouachita parishes.During the early 1950's my immediate family moved to KY to seek better job opportunities. We lived in Louisville, KY.
I have four children, all girls, and four grandchildren (3 girls & 1 boy). My youngest child (?) is 21 years old!Boy, time certainly flies by.
Good Hunting in your research.Find out all you can from your parents, grandparents, and, if possible, any living great-grandparents: names, birthdates, marriages, children, date of death, and place of burial. It's good detective work.
