Charlie; Glad to see your post.I never received a reply from L.isa; but hope to make contact with you.I've researched this family for over 25 years (my line is through Thos Jr's brother, William who lived near Simpson in what is now Taylor Co, WV) I've now concluded that Thomas BARTLETT c1730-1806 was the son of Thomas BARTLETT c1705-1783 of Richmond Co, VA.There is a record of Thos b c1730 in Richmond Co in 1747, but I've found no other record until he "appears" in Fauquier Co in 1768 (lots of records from 1768 to 1785 in Fauquier Co)His wife, Anne, died in the early 1770's and he 2m 1777 in Fauquier Co, VA to Sarah CARROLL.I can't find any records of a Thomas BARTLETT, Jr in Fauquier Co so presume that Thos. Jr didn't marry Sarah ____ until he got to Harrison Co in 1785, when he started appearing in the Personal Property Tax Lists each year along with his father, Thos Sr. Do you have any clues to Sarah's maiden name? I believe in addition to the children you named for Sterling BARTLETT I have Cecelia S b 1824 m 1862 John WHITESCARVER; Rebecca b c1830 m 1851 Ferdinand P WOOD; and Martha b 1833 m 1863 Rensselaer A TRAVER - do any of these match info you have? Also I have John J BARTLETT as Sterling's son - do you have a record that indicates it should be John Allen BARTLETT? I've collected many Harrison Co records (available in a Word doc if you want them), but none with John Allen... Also I should note that Sterling's father, Thomas BARTLETT, Jr, died in Preston Co abt 1732. Good luck with your History, and please let me know when it's available, or if I can help in any way.
