The message I sent by email came back, so I'll post here again:
I have no doubt some of my Risley information is off.I'd be glad to have more accurate material.I've found Emma being referred to with the first and middle names in both orders and didn't know which was right.
As you may have noticed, there are a number of Revolutionary War vets in the Bartlett/Holbrook line.Antipas Bartlett, Jonas Bartlett (the 1st), Nathaniel Holbrook, Uriah Hopkins and Joseph Mann.I think that's it.Joseph Mann is tricky with the documentation, but I've been picking away at it. Joseph supposedly served in his 50s despite a leg disability and was very fiesty.Nathaniel has a pension file that I ordered from NARA.Jonas Bartlett (the 2nd, father of Emma) was called a major in his obituary, and I'm dying to know in what capacity.Haven't solved that one yet.If I can be of any help in locating the documentation the SAR needs, let me know. You probably have other Rev. War people in your tree as well.
As for the descent from Josiah, genealogy means different things to different people.I'm a very curious person, so I gather as much as I can about ancestors to get a good picture of them. That's led me to some interesting things, others not so interesting, but they all are a part of me, so I want to be as sure as possible that I've got the right people. I've been doing it for many years, on and off, which is why there's so much information on the website at this point.Probably more than most people would want to know!I also like knowing what they looked like to help complete the "picture."I would very much appreciate it if you could scan some of the old photos.A representative photo of Leander would be nice to have, too.If there are any that are unidentified, maybe I can help with that.
Let me know if you have any questions or help with anything, and please keep me in mind if anything else of Bartlett interest turns up.
