This goes out to any of the more experienced Josiah researchers who might have an confirmed and or published Bartlett lineage for the d.o.i. signer. I come down from Martha Bartlett, my 8th great-grandmother, b.7 mar 1653 d. 8 sep 1718, married Deacon Thomas Stevens in Newbury, Mass 15 apr 1671. Martha's father (my g9 g-father) was Christopher Bartlett b. 25 feb 1623 ernley, england d. 15 mar 1670 newbury, mass married Mary (last name ? variously given at familysearch.org as Mary Bartlett, Mary Hoyt, and Mary clement) 16 apr 1645 in newbury, mass. My possible connection to Josiah appears to be through Christopher's brother Richard Bartlett b. 31 oct 1621 ernley, england d. 18 july 1698 newbury, mass married Abigail Welles. Richard b. 31 oct 1621 appears to have been Josiah's great grandfather. When I input this data into FTM and hit the "kinship" button, it identified Josiah d.o.i. signer as my 3rd cousin 8x removed. After 9 years of family research, I've learned to "confirm, then confirm again"-I'd be pleasantly surprised if this "proved out", as I wasn't even looking for Josiah the signer.
