I am grasping at the wind and my head is sore from hitting the proverbial Genealogy Brick Wall, searching for those lost Hubbards who married into the Bartlett family.
I am trying to locate additional info on my GGG-Grandfather Robert A. Hubbard. Robert was born about 1820 in South Carolina. He was a shoemaker by trade. He married a Lucinda Smith and later moved to Gordon Co. Georgia. In 1850 he is shown to have three children, Warren age 5, Lenard Franklin age 4, and Caledonia age 3, he had another child Jane latter born.
His son Lenard F. Hubbard married Mary Bartlett, (she was the daughter of William Blake Bartlett and Catherine Williams).
Around 1868 the Hubbard and Bartlett families came to Etowah Co. Alabama. Many of their decedents still live in the area today.
We can find no record of Robert A. Hubbard's past or his parents.
It just appears that Robert A. Hubbard just fell from the sky and appeared one day.
There were several Hubbard's from South Carolina, that also came to the Gordon Co. Georgia area. If anyone has any information on this it would be greatly appreciated.
Hopefully someone out there in the Bartlett family will have the missing link to help us locate our Ancestor's family. Thanks for your help, Danny Skillman, Altoona, Alabama, E-mail-- email@example.com
