Jim- Thank you for helping to put perspective on the various records. We were getting crosseyed trying to sort them out.I think the only one that still doesn't make sense is that of the cemetary record of Herbert as it does not show correct age?.....but perhaps it is a different Herbert! Bartlett,
Herbert J20y8m20d1887 Oct 14my note: B. 1/27/1867?
1. John G BARTLETT m Almira A, DEC 29 1866, Calhoun, MI 2. I assume John would take on Henry's child as his own....he took on his wife after all.We agree on that point too. 3. Orlin A would have been born the year after the marriage.
There was definitely no divorce between John G and AlmiraThe other John must be a relation?????
"As for the cemetery register: 5 Jan 1865 minus 24y6m28d results in a b 8 Jun 1840, which is in line with the info you posted for Charles." Ha!Husband figured that one wrong! He has a math degree!Won't let him live that one down soon!
I have contact with Robert's grandson Bruce Harding Bartlett through his wife who is doing all his genealogy work.I will let her know you are desirous of the test but as they are seniors I don't know if they can afford it to be honest.
My dad, Clyde Bartlett was John G's grandson (His dad was Edwin Stanley, the youngest).I do have brothers and have suggested the DNA test to them, but finances are tough all over right now as you know......They said perhaps one day.
Yes, we are from VT.We have a public tree on Ancestry- the Bartlett Family Tree.I will send you an invite if you like.
The Eldred's are also from VT and are quite an intertwined family with ours.In all likelihood you would find Jasper on the tree.My cousin Lisa does much of the research.
Thanks again for your help and input! Dawn Bartlett Kroma
