You're correct that an old Abner AYCOCK (age c56) married a young Sarah BARTLETT (age c 30) in 1854 in Warren Co, NC.I presume this is Sarah's first marriage; and that she was born a BARTLETT - I can't find her in the NC 1850 census and have been unable to determine her parents in NC. Because she and Richard are both BARTLETTs, I am working on the theory that they are siblings.Do you have any indication that they are not?
In Van Buren Co, AR Barbery BARTLETT is in the 1840 census.Per World Connect she was Barbara A CABOT b 1812 NC m William BARTLETT c1800-1839; she remarried after 1840 to John WILLIAMS and they are in the 1850 census with her BARTLETT children: Richard H b 1834 AR; William C b 1837 AR; and Martin V b 1839 AR.I have been unable to find any of these sons in subsequent census records.
Richard H BARTLETT m c1854 AR Nancy Jane SOWELL b c1833 TN.Jane BARTLETT 26 b TN is living with her mother, Elizabeth SOWELL 46 in 1860, but there is no Richard in this record.Richard is reported to have died 1864 in the CivWar.
I can imagine his brothers, William and Martin, were also in the CivWar, and perhaps died, too.
In any case I don't think this Richard is related to the NC BARTLETTs
There is a Katheryn BARTLETT b 1878 Van Buren Co, AR...
Can you tell me the page number in the 1860 census where your Catherine/Katherine is listed?
