Update:I think Calvin's full name may have been Calvin Tower Bartlett, b. 11 June 1841,fifth child of Tilson Bartlett and Permelia Tower of Worthington, Massachusetts.Calvin's siblings were:
Milley Bartlett, b. 03 APR 1831, d. 16 Nov. 1831 Milley Elizabeth Bartlett, b. 18 Oct 1832 Noyes Colt Bartlett, b. 18 Oct 1834 Jacob Manley Bartlett, b. 26 Jun 1837 Zilpah J. Bartlett, b. 02 Oct 1843 Horace Franklin Bartlett, b.20 Aug 1845 Howard Francis Bartlett, b.20 Aug 1845 Charles T. Bartlett, b. 25 Mar 1848 Ellen M. Bartlett, b. 26 Jun 1850 John Bartlett, b. 26 Jun 1856
It finally dawned on me to check the age of my great grandmother Nettie Eugenia Bates to see how old she was when her mother died. She was about 10, her brother Winthrop, 12, and oldest sibling Helen 14. There was a shred of information that Helen had been raised by a Brewster relative, but I have been unable to determine where Nettie and Winthrop were sent.he weren't in their step-father Francis Janes Parsons' household in the 1880 census, which leaves me with no clue as to the whereabouts of Helen and Winthrop between the death of their mother in 1872 and the 1880 census.
It may be a leap of faith, but I believe that Nettie Bates, at least, may have gone to someone in Calvin's family. I'm still trying to determine if Calvin's grandmother, Polly Barr is the same Polly Barr in the household of William Alert Bates of Worthington, Massachusetts.
