Yes.I do know Thomas Archibald's parents were James L. Bartlett Apr 1852 in Ohio and Laura Bell Teal Sep 1856 in Baltimore married on 19 Nov 1879.In 1900 James was a coal merchant.
In 1900, they are indexed as Jas L and L. Bell Bartlett with Thomas A. and Jas L. Jr.Ward 7. Image 14 of 38.As far as I know, they always were at 2222 Orleans St.
You can find him with his family in 1910 by searching for Laura Bartlett. They are in Ward 6 Baltimore.Image 16 of 32 on Ancestry.com
I actually wonder about there being 2 Arch Bartletts.I am sure the 6 Oct 1886 is correct for him. What about the 18 Jan 1886 birth date on the WWII record? He was the first cousin of Archibald Bartlett TEAL who was born in Jan. 1886.That individual is mysterious.I have never found anymore on him other than his sister, Zelma was the contact person for the cemetery suggesting that she was the only living relative.
I don't remember exactly what all I saw as I was looking into collateral lines but I remember thinking that.
I've seen some records that say Jas. L. was born in Ohio.some say Maryland.I found the 1860 census with James L. age 8 B. in Ohio.Father, Thomas age 33 Blacksmith b. MD, mother Mary age 32 b. DE, Mary C. age 11 PA, Jas L. 8 Ohio, Thomas H. 2 DE in Ward 1 BaltimoreImage 11 of 375.
1880 Jas L is gone. They are still in Baltimore, Dist 12. Thomas Henry, 23.sister Mary E is married to Peter Strebeck and has Hattie B. age 5.Image 12 of 29.
I can't find Thomas b. 1827 in MD or Mary b. 1828 in DE in 1850.Mary could be born in 1850.
My interest in this is to try to 'back door' some information.Laura Bell's father was Archibald TEAL.He married Susannah Moss in 1846.I have 4 known kids, John Peter, 1851; George Washington 1853; Florence, 1853; and Laura Bell, 1856.Apparently, they had a close relationship because John P. named a child Archibald Bartlett Teal and the Bartletts used Archibald's name too.they also had Florence who only lived about 5 yrs.I can go back with Archibald to his father, Archibald b. 1771 and his father George but I can't get farther back.
The Teals did not produce large families or if they did, few survived and had children of their own.Sort of a reverse shape to the typical tree.I always figure the more eye balls looking at material, the more likelihood of getting results.
So, I'm inclined to want to investigate the Richmond / Hampton Bartletts.Maybe somebody has a Bible record stashed away.
Let me know what you think about this info.Especially about the different dates of birth.I would not think he would make a mistake like saying Jan for Oct.
