From your posting:"Abram Bartlett was the son of Abram Bartlett (1796-1864) and Ann Richard (1796?-?). The elder Abram Bartlett had two siblings. They were William Bartlett (1794?-?) and Joseph Bartlett (1798?-1871). The elder Abram Bartlett’s parents were William Bartlett (1780-1829) and Ann (1784?-?)."
I may be reading this wrong, but I'm wondering about the dates. If the elder Abram Bartlett's parents were William Bartlett (1780 - 1829) and Ann (1784? - ?), and he was born 1796, his father would have been 16 at the time of his birth, so possibly married at age 15/16 (very unusual for the time). If his brother was actually born in 1794 (I realize this is uncertain)--that would make the father even two years younger; i.e., 14-ish at the time of the child's birth.Since their mother, Ann, was guesstimated to have been born 1784, she would have been 10 years' old in 1794.
I've been trying to work out the connections between the early Bartletts of Brigus, and recently acquired a copy of a William Bartlett's will document, dated 1802.The will mentions his sons John, William, Thomas, and George (George predeceased his father).I don't know when this William died, exactly, but it's possible he was the father of the William whose dates are 1780 - 1829, since a son William was mentioned in the will, and the dates seem to work.
It seems to me that neither of these 'William Bartletts' would have been the father of the 'elder Abram' (1796 - 1864).Would you agree?
