Though I've seen this reference, the actual given name for the individual I'm looking for is David Van de Water Golden Barltett. The information that I have received so far and as much as I can I have verified, goes like this: Born 16 April 1828 in Bllomfield, CT. Died in April 1905 in West Haven, CT. Married Julia Painter. This David W. wrote for papers such as the "Christian Citizen". He and his brother purchased the "Springfield Republican" and he wrote as a correspondent for the New York "Evening Post". He wrote under the pen name "Van".His father was John Barlett, his mother Jane Golden. His maternal grandfather was David Van de Water Golden (Judge). His grandmother on the maternal side is not known yet. His paternal grandparents are John Bartlett and Desire Loomis. Because of the middle name last name interests I am quite interested of the connection, since in my line I have a David Van de Water that married a Sarah Golden. In David W.'s obit it references both the Van de Water & Golden names and how he was related. Any help up-line would be appreciated. There is a vague reference in some material that I received of a David Van Wart Golden that is connected to the Canadian-Van Wart families of New Bruswick. However, mine is not this one. My David W. alias David Van de Water Golden Bartlett is listed with the Library of Congress and I have crossed reference him by catalog number to be the same David Van de Water Golden Bartlett that Ayers Publishing has advertised on the internet regarding some writings about or concerning Abraham Lincoln. Until I saw the Ayers ad on the NET I had no idea Mr. Bartlett existed. And now I at least have the connection from him to the GOldens and I know my family married into the Goldens so now all I need is probably Daivd Van de Water GOlden's parents and I will have the answer to a long piece of research.
