My gggrandparent's were John Naill and Mary "Polly" Barkley, they married in Knox Co., Tn. in 1820. Their son, my ggrandfather was James Bartley Naill and I suspect that Polly Barkley had a sister Betsy that went by the name of Barclay. Elizabeth "Betsy" Barclay married Samuel Naill in Knox Co., Tn. in 1828 and John Naill posted the bond for that marriage. I think that Mary "Polly" and Betsy Barclay/Barkley were sister's and John and Samuel Naill were brother's. Since Polly Barkley and Betsy Barclay were both born in Knox Co. in abt. 1801 and abt. 1807 respectively, I can find only one good set of candidates for their parent's who lived in Knox Co., Tn. at this time. They are Felix Barclay and Price Brock, they were married in Knox Co. in 1799 and seem to be the only Barclay/Barkley's living in the area during this period. John and Polly Naill had other children with the B. middle name, could be Barclay and Barkley.
