Hello:
Thanks for your email. My husband's ancestors were from southern Moravia.Stity is near Olomouc in northern Moravia; see the city's website @ www.stity.cz.
I would recommend trying to locate records for your ancestors in the State Archives located in Opava (http://www.archives.cz/zao/opava/home/index.html).You can get a great deal of information as to what to look for @ http://www.cyndislist.com/czech.htmhttp://www.cyndislist.com/czech.htm.
I would suggest writing the archives in Opava, and asking for the "farni matrika" or parish record for Richard Bartos. There are Czech language form letters @ http://www.familysearch.org/eng/search/RG/frameset_rg.asp?Dest=G1&Aid=&Gid=&Lid=&Sid=&Did=&Juris1=&Event=&Year=&Gloss=&Sub=&Tab=&Entry=&Guide=LWGCzechSlo.ASPhttp://www.familysearch.org/eng/search/RG/frameset_rg.asp?Dest=G1&Aid=&Gid=&Lid=&Sid=&Did=&Juris1=&Event=&Year=&Gloss=&Sub=&Tab=&Entry=&Guide=LWGCzechSlo.ASP.
Once you have Richard's christening record, you will have a three to four generation record of his family tree, including the names of his godparents.
Good luck!
