My own Battermann-Ostermeier family and their siblings and parents emmigrated from Kolenfeld Germany to the Crete Illinois-Dyer Indiana area in the 1850s. I am not related to Johann Conrad Batterman but I know a lot about his ancestry.Tell me how far back you can go, and I'll try to fill in from there. I became interested in him since he enlisted as a soldier in the Civil War from Crete, IL.
