Battle is apparently Paschal Columbus Battle.He is one of the descendants of Mathew Battle covered by Jack Charles Battle's "We Begin With Mathew: the Second Battle Book" (self-published, 1996).You should contact him for further information (P.O. Box 1875, Pasadena, TX, 77501-1875), but here is what he has for this man (from p. 300):
"NINTH CHILD OF JOHN WALKER BATTLE...PASCHAL COLUMBUS BATTLE--Swannanoa, NC, Meth. Minister, Ret'd.; b. Cherokee Co., NC, Apr. 20, 1855; d. Asheville, NC, Apr. 19, 1921; [buried in Laurens, SC, 'in the old family burying ground', apparently a Taylor family cemetery].Methodist Southern Conference minister, several different churches including Halifax Co., NC, and in Greensboro, NC, for several years before retiring to Swannanoa; m. (prob. in SC); BETTY AGNES TAYLOR (b. Laurens Co., SC, Feb. 1, 1860; d. Asheville, NC, Oct. 15, 1918)."Three children are given: Sumner O. Battle, Dwight Lyman Moody Battle, and Mary Henry Battle.
