I will pull all of my names and dates for Pinkney and Fannie's children. If you are in the Jefferson County area, Pinkney is in the cemetery on the right side of I59 going from Gadsden. He is buried on top of the hill.Unfortunately, there is an error on his tombstone and marks his birth as 1856 in stead of 1848 or 1849.I am not sure which of those two dates are correct.
Aunt Witch's name was Marcia. She married Myles Moody. There is a story behind how she got her name.Pinkney was the first Postmaster in Avondale(??) (Will check records on where, but it was in the Birmingham area. His wife Fannie lived with Uncle Robert until her death and she is buried in the same cemetery, but in a different section. She is buried down the hill in Robert's plot, along with Robert and other members of Robert's family.
Fannie was the daughter of Josiah Hill and Pinkney's and Fannie's marriage took place the year before Etowah County was named. It was originally named Baine County and their marriage records show same.If you will e-mail me @[email protected] I will try to answer specific questions.Millie's name was Amelia Sutherland.Of course William Noah Battles married Elizabeth Hopper. Some of Noah's descendents have attempted to place us with the North Carolina Battle(note spelling but I am able to disprove that theory with much documentation from their travels.
Ewing's name was Ewing Calvin but he later changed it to Ewing W.He married Allie Mae Walker.Just let me know what you need to know.Joanna married a Mitchell. All of this information I pulled from memory, all of my research data is packed up right now.
