Hi! How about a little help? Especially any descendent from Nelson Battles (1790-1836) and wife Rhoda Winton (1797-1848). Rhoda (Winton) Battles was daughter to my Great Great GreatGrandfather, William Winton Jr and wife Catherine Denton. Rhoda Winton was sister to my Great Great Grandfather,Jacob George Winton. Nelson Battles (son of Noel) and Rhoda Winton, married 1813, Rhea Co Tenn, named their children: Martha, who married Raleigh Battles (first cousin); Corrinda, who married Jeremiah Whisemont; James Jefferson, who married Amanda Countryman,:Catherine, who married John Walley; Melissa, who married Thomas Mize; one "unknown"; AND JACOB WINTON BATTLES (named to honor Rhoda (Winton) Battles brother, grandfather, and her surname). AND I CANNOT FIND OUT WHAT HAPPENED TO THIS FINE GENTLEMAN?? On the 21 Dec 1849, Orphans Court in Vacation, St Clair, Jacob Winton Battles was appointed a guardian, Mr John F. Dill. Jacob Winton Battles identified as minor heir of Nelson Battles/Rhoda Battles estate. Previously, 26 Oct 1848, Orphans Court, Jacob Winton Battles identified as minor of said estate as Rhody Battles, late consort of Nelson, was now dead. I never located him after this 1849 date????? Would/could one of those close to the "action" do it, please. Thank you.RegardsDick PS: Those Dunns, over in Blount and Tuscaloosa, are Winton cousins. So are the Wintons over in Morgan. So are all of those Tenn Wintons, and us Hoosier Wintons, and those out in Misserry, and Arkansas, and Okeyland. PPS: Didn't Rhoda (Winton) Battles still hold the Section 36, NW 1/4 NE 1/4, Twp 12 R4E, 40acres, secured 1 Aug 1839, when she passed away?
