Batts families - DNA tesing

Batts families –

A few Batts have recently done DNA testing using FamilyTreeDNA.com.The yDNA-37 test is $169.00 (there is a $20 discount if you order the kit as part of a project group).

In order to do the test, you must be a male Batts.There are currently (7) Batts in the database – of these, I know (4) of the individuals that have tested, which have resulted in (3) seemingly unrelated Batts branches.One of these Batts was a match with the Batte family.

If you are interested, I would encourage you to order a kit and do the test - the more Batts that participate, the more useful the results as far as identifying connections.As far as I know, no one from the following Batts branches have done DNA testing.(If you know someone that has already, please have them contact me.)

1) William Batts d. 1742 of Surry Co., VA (Batts of Surry Co., VA/ Edgecombe Co., NC / Roberson Co., TN)
2) Jesse Batts d. 1870 of Duplin Co., NC
3) Nathan Batts d. 1840 of Washington Co., GA
4) John Batts d. 1831/2 of Lee Co., GA or Jefferson Co., GA
5) Any others I may be missing
