My Batur family were Roman Catholic. There are conflicting times for their arrival to the U.S. Some records states 1899 as arrival, others 1903. I feel that the later date is probably correct because I could not find them on the 1900 U.S. Census, but they were on the 1910 Census. All records say they were Austrian, but they spoke Polish. The father's name was Joseph Batur, b. 1850, his wife was Mary(or some derivitive of that name), b. 1868, a son,(my father) Stanley Batur, b. 1893 and a daughter Eleanora Batur, b. 1897. The name Starom was something my father told me was his mothers name, not sure if it was part of her maiden name or surname. Or the possibility it could have been transcribed incorrectly by an immigration clerk. I want to thank you for replies.
