Hi, Danny and everyone.
Lorene's parents were Wiley Baucum and Margaret Elizabeth Beard.Walter Washington Baucum was Lorene's brother, not her father.
Wiley and Margaret had the following children:
1.Mary Lorena C., b. abt 1867
2.William Asa "Bogue", b. 25 Nov 1868, d. 14 Dec 1923, m. Belle Rafina Toney on 30 Nov 1890
3.Annetta P., b. 15 Apr 1870, d. 13 Dec 1874, buried in McNairy Co, Tenn
4.Lucretia E.[Esther?], b. Aug 1871, m. William Morrow
5.Ellen E., b. abt 1873, m. Evert E. Russell
6.Walter Washington, b. 27 Jun 1875, d. 3 Aug 1905, m. China Frances "Fanny" Brown abt 1893
7.Susan B., b. 10 Jun 1877, d. 14 Apr 1879, buried in McNairy Co, Tenn
8. Thomas L., b. 17 Oct 1878, d. 24 May 1935, m. Elizabeth "Lizzie" Gafford
9.Willie B., b. 25 Jun 1880, d. 2 Dec 1884, buried in McNairy Co, Tenn
10.James Edgar, b. 12 Jun 1881, d. 6 Dec 1921, m. Nettie Ola McSpadden on 14 Sep 1904.
Wiley Baucum appears in the census records as follows:
1850 - Living with parents, Asa & Linnie Baucum.McNairy Co, Tenn - 7th District -- Sheet 15, Hh 95.
1860 - Living with parents, Asa & Linnie Baucum.Saline Co, Arkansas - p. 581, Hh 182.Calvert twp.
1870 - Wiley, wife Margaret & 3 oldest children (Mary Lorena, William Asa, and Lucretia), McNairy Co, Tenn - 8th district, p. 288, Hh 58.
1880 - Wiley, wife Margaret & 7 children (Mary Lorena, Wm. Asa, Lucretia E., Ellen, Walter Washington, Thomas L., and Willie B.) McNairy Co, Tenn - 8th district, ED 123, Hh30.
The three children who died are buried with tombstones marked with names plus "son/dtr of W. & M.E. Baucum", in McNairy Co, Tenn.
I think the confusion about Lorene's parents may have arisen from the 1900 census in Altus, Greer Co, Oklahoma Territory:
Household 268 is Margaret [Beard] Baucum 58, with children Thomas, James Edgar, and Lucretia & her husband and children.
Next door to them is Household 269 with Walter Washington Baucum 24, and his wife Fannie and their children.
This is the obituary from the Altus paper for Walter Washington Baucum:
Altus Weekly News - 3 August 1905:"Died in Texas.Walter Baucum, of Charlie, [Clay Co,]Texas, brother of W.A., Tom, and Ed Baucum of This City.Walter Baucum, of Charlie, Texas, a small station on the Denver road near Wichita Falls, Texas, a brother of W. A., Tom, and Ed Baucum, and a former resident of Altus, died at his home of typhoid fever Friday morning at 1:30 o'clock.Mr. Baucum had been ill about three weeks, and his mother, Mrs. M. E. [Margaret Elizabeth] Baucum, and his brother Tom, both of this city were at his bedside when he passed away. The funeral services were conducted Saturday, and the remains were interred at Charlie [Clay Co, Texas].Walter Baucum was about 30 years old, a farmer and left Altus about two years ago to reside on a farm in Texas. He leaves a wife and five children to mourn his departure, two of the children being very sick of the same disease which caused his death.Mrs. Baucum and Tom returned home Wednesday - Walter Baucum had many friends in and about Altus, and the family have their deepest sympathy."
Hope this helps.
