I am not real certain who Bess was, as the mother of Sarah Jane ("Sallie") Baucom was a Lydia Edwards and she married Andrew Jackson Baucom.Andrew and Lydia had four children that I know about.They were Sarah Jane, Daniel C., Thomas Hampton and Matthew James.

Sarah married Hugh Richard Knox and they had nine children that I know about.They were Martha Ann, William Hampton, Sarah Jane, Alvin Hugh, John Henry Sr., Malinda Docia, Leilar Adlyne, Tyra George and Mary Elizabeth.

I do have a Mary Elizabeth ("Molly") Nations who married first to Charles W. Baucum and second to Alex A. Meeks.Charles was a son of Shelvy/Shelby Baucom and Elizabeth ("Betsy") Edwards.Lydia and Elizabeth were sisters and they married brothers, Shelvy/Shelby and Andrew.This Elizabeth might very well be your Bess, but of course I do not know for certain.
