Bower, Frank, Sheriff of Lehigh Co. was born in Carbon Co, 7 May 1839. His father was Charles G. Bower, a native of Germany, came to this country and settled in Carbon Co., PA. He died 1859, he married Elizabeth Wents, born in Carbon Co, 1803 and d/o Jacob Wentz.
Frank Bower married in 1869 to Marietta Kace, a native of Whitehall twp Lehigh Co. Children, Annie E., w/o Lafayette Young, Jennie wf of Henry H. Heberling, Charles G, Harry F., Edward C., William F., Edwin P., and Rebecca H. Mr. Bower had a brother in LaFayette Co. WI, who had srv as sheriff, as died his brother Hon. George Bower, of Lehigh Co
Bower, D. W. of Catasqauqua, his father was Hon. George Bower. The next to the eldets in a family of 10 children, the subject was born in Carbon Co, Jan 17, 1856
At Catasaugua D. W. married Elizabeth Bradley, who was born in Scotland but was reared in the family of Hon. George Bower. 4 children were born, Charles Alexander, Helen A., died age 1, Leonard G. and Ruth G.
Bower, George (Hon). He is a native of PA being born in Lehighton 3 Dec 1832. The family of which he was a member originated in the Fatherland where his father C.G was born and reared, he came to America age 18.
He moved to Berlinsvile, Northampton Co and he worked as a harness maker. In the spring of 1832 he settled in Lehighton, Carbon Co. The mother of our subeject was Elizabeth (Wentz). She was the d/o George Wentz, a native of Heidelberg twp., Lehigh Co.
In 1851 George married Amelia D. Clauss. Children; C.D.W.. Elmira w/o B.B. Linn, George W., of New York, Emma A., Minnie w/o J. D. Tillman of New Jersey, Laura E. w/o T.M. Jenkins, Annie E., and John M. Mr. and Mrs Bower also reared an orpahn child, Lizzie who married C.D.W. Bower.
