I am trying to locate the family of a John B Bauer that I believe is located somewhere in Germany.I have very limited information and all of it is in pieces, so if any of this is familiar, please let me know.
John B Bauer-Born in Germany (no other location given) on 12/09/1904.Died on 01/03/2004 in Arnold, MO, USA. States that he received an 8th Grade education. He shows that he was an Iron Worker at St. Louis Iron Works. He married an "Anna/Ann" Pollwk (or Polewk-can't read his writing well) in 1934 at Milstadt, Illinois. He moved from Illinois to St. Louis but I don't know when.I do not have any idea when he would have immigrated to the US or with whom he came with.Obviously it would have been sometime between 1904 and 1934.He states his father as "Konrad Bauers" (however his obituary spells it Conrad Bauer), also born in Germany-deceased in 1959.He states his mother as "Agnes" Sciesler (maybe Schister? obituary states it as Zeisler), also born in Germany-deceased in 1967.
He states that brothers and sisters are in "old folks home in Germany."I have some information on relatives but it is confusing and I'm not sure who is connected to who. Here is what I have:
Obituary reads:Beloved Brother of:Loni Matcha (Matschka), Betty Jenn, and Marie Hahn (I'm assuming that these three sisters would have all had the nee of Bauer).Beloved Husband of:The Late Anna Marie Bauer.Beloved Brother of Late:Kuni Michel, George Michel, Bernard Bauer, and Albert Bauer. (I'm not sure what the "Michel" is...a middle name??)
I have other documents that name the following people:Bernhard Bauer-Brother, Elizabeth/Elizabith (Betty) Jenn-Sister, Loni Matschke (also spelled Matschka)-Sister, Marie Hahn-Sister, Werner Bauer-Nephew, George Bauer-Nephew, Michael Bauer-Nephew, Willy Bauer-Nephew, Loni Scherer-Niece, Hannelore Blinninger-Niece, Gunda Heis-Niece.
This document was written when John Bauer was quite elderly so I am not sure that any of the names are spelled correctly or whom may still be living so I apologize in advance for any errors.
If someone can link this John "B" Bauer to their family or provide me with any information, it would be absolutely wonderful.John and Anna, as far as I can tell, never had any children.I am not sure how or when John arrived in Illinois and why he came to that area.I am guessing that somewhere along the line there was a family or friend who helped him immigrate here.
