I'm looking for information about Aaron Alvin and Elizabeth Ann (Milliorn/Milron) Baxter. I come from the line of their son James, b. Feb 07, 1882.
1870 Missouri census: members of household: Aaron A Baxter40yb. IL~1830 Elizabeth Baxter33yb. TN~1837 Sarah N Baxter12yb. MO~1858 Nancy E. Baxter5yb. MO~1865 Martha E. Baxter4yb. MO~1866 Serena E. Baxter2yb. MO~1868
James A. Baxter12yb. TX (This is not James Henry. Don't know who he is or where he came from.)
1900 Washita, Oklahoma Territory Census: (Elisebeth is listed as head of household, age 63, b. TN)
Wiliam Baxter (son, 29y, b. TN)1871 Albert Baxter(son, 22y, b. MO)1878 James Baxter (son, 18, b. TX)1882 Willis Fallen(grson, 16, b. TX ~ 1884) Edith I Fallen(grdau, 14, TX ~ 1886) Bertha Fallen(grdau, 12, TX ~ 1888) Thomas Fallen(grson, 10, IT, OK ~ 1890) Omie Fallen(grdau, 7, IT, OK ~ 1893)
Lived in MO from 58 to 68, then had child in TN in 1871, but also had MO land grant in 1871, then to TX by 1882. Fallen family lived in OK by 1890. Elizabeth was there by 1900. It appears that Aaron was dead by 1900. Story goes he was a preacher in TX, and one evening his horse came home without him. He'd been shot in the back for the contribution money.
Whose children (Fallen) are these? Must have been a daughter. [Seems improbable for it to be a son from a previous marriage, because he'd most likely be with A & E at some point prior to this.] So which daughter married a Fallen? Did both parents die? Why are the kids with grandma?
Assuming Willis was the oldest Fallin child, Fallen mother would need to be of child-bearing age by 1884, so most likely born around 1864 or before. So Sarah or Nancy or Martha (who would have been 18 in 1884.)If it were Sarah or Nancy, could have older chidlren who have already moved out before 1990. Also assuming we have the full list of Aaron and Elizabeth's children. Most likely (given Elizabeth was only 21 when Sarah was born.)
James died at age 80 in 1962. James' obit lists a surviving sister, Nora. Who is this? Probably not Sarah N. - she'd be over 100 by then. The other girls have E middle names. Could stand for Elenora, and been shortened to Nora?
Any information is appreciated. We'd love to find Aaron's family.
