Lynn Proud sent me a recent e-mail that included a transcript of notes which in part were: ...This came from a lady who's grandmother was Elizabeth Contee Bean. The lady evidently was going through old boxes of her grandmothers and came across some notes, and this is what she sent me (quoted exactly). [I have edited to get to the parts that mention the name "Worth"GBS] John Robert Bean and Elizabeth Ann Hull had three children: William Worth Bean (Uncle Worth), born February 14, 1849, married Julia Bell Keith, September 2, 1874 in Augusta, KY. They had two children: Nannie Keith Bean (Cousin Nan) and William Worth Bean, Jr. (Cousin Worth), born June 3, 1881, died June 1958. [Nannie was involved in bringing the B’hai religion to the U.S. She died in Persia] [When Gran was a child, she lived briefly with cousin Nan in Arizona.]
Sarah Fenton Bean (Aunt Fentie), born Dec. 2, 1851, died Jan. 9, 1935. She married George Madison Moore, June 5, 1878. Their children were Elizabeth Bean Moore, born March 24, 1879 near Georgetown, KY; Thomas Beebe Moore, born Oct. 30, 1882, Sarah Fenton Moore, born Nov. 18, 1886, died November, 1934. [She spent many years in bed weakened by TB.] Aunt Fentie had six children in all, but 3 died in infancy.
My father, Robert White Bean, married June 6, 1883 to Catherine Contee Keith in Dayton, KY., daughter of Dr. John Randolph Keith and Mary Elizabeth Keith of Alexandria, VA, formerly of Augusta, KY. Robert W. Bean and Catherine Contee Keith had 4 children born. Mary Keith Bean, born in Dayton, KY; and Robert Worth Bean and Elizabeth Contee Bean, both born in Washington, DC. Randolph Keith Bean, called Keith, died at about 1 ½ years. My mother died when Keith was 6 weeks old in Washington DC. I haven't found much on the Knox County KY Beans. Nothing on Robert White Bean. Can you tell me about the Worth Bean you are searching for? Hope this help. Bruce
