I will shortly have some information on a John Willoughby Bean who lived in Tasmania in the 1930's. I am awaiting from the University a copy of a letter which I found indexed in the historic collection of the Library of The University of Tasmania. It was a letter from my great aunt Sophia M Butler of Hounslow, Middlesex, England sent to JWB son of Lucy and Edwin in 1932. I had assumed that the letter would have been sent to a descendant of one of the Butler family who migrated to Tasmania in 1824. I don't know who this JWB was but the similarity and unusualness of the name make me think he may in some way be connected to your Willoughby Bean. I suppose you know about the two law cases in New South Wales in 1837 and 1838, dealing with the wrongful arrest of Willoughby Bean. If not, let me know and I'll give you the reference.
