Jonise, it is my theory that William and Walter's father was John Bean (born Laurens SC 1776) and that John was married to an Indian. I don't have any documents on John, do you?

The Indian story lives in my family, too, and it was always believed that my great-grandmother Sarah Paralee Pilkington was part Indian. She was the daughter of Marian Bean (William and Charity's daughter) and David R. Pilkington. I have found D. R. in the 1850 census living with Alsalom and Sarah Pilkington Hull (his sister and brother-in-law). I have his marriage to Marian Bean in 1852 in Talladega. I have Marian and the kiddos in St. Clair County in 1870. Nothing else on Poppa (who may have been part Indian?).

I would appreciate any leads you might have.
